Hong Kong – what a vibrant, overwhelming and fascinating city!
Not a classy beauty with it’s jam-packed street canyons and thick smog but with more soaring skyscrapers than New York City definitely one of the most pulsating cities in the world. We love!
The Hong Kong Slogan? You can have whatever you like doubled!
More skyscrapers, more restaurants, more rooftops, more sky bars, more shopping malls, more Chanel (can you believe they have 7 stores?) and more flowers – guaranteed more fun!
Follow us through the City of Life!
PINK Stay:
We stayed at a private house but the Ritz Carlton is for sure one of the most spectacular hotels in Honk Kong. Enjoy the stunning view from the highest bar in the world and don’t forget to grab some pink Pierre Hermé macarons – even in the lobby.
PINK Sights:
There is so much to discover – a city full of surprises!
The Temples:
Very spiritual moments guaranteed and definitely worth a visit! It is a must do to have a little sneak peek into other cultures and religions. Always wear your favorite oriental tunic to stand out the tourist crowd.
Tian Tan Buddha:
This giant impressive Buddha has something magical. You get there by cable car and can enjoy an amazing view over the sea and the skyline. Sporty girls? Let’s hike 😉
Flower Market Kowloon:
The perfect sightseeing for ladies is the flower market of Kowloon. An endless street full of cute little boutiques offering the most colorful and fragrant flowers. Always check if there is a special flower show in the city when you are there. Nothing better than flower couture!
Hong Kong on a Junk Boat:
Having cocktails with friends in front of the impressive Hong Kong skyline sparkles? Sounds like the perfect evening. Get tickets for the 6.30 p.m. ride to gaze at the fiery red sunset. Unfortunately nothing for sea sick ladies 😉
Honk Kong Laser Show:
When all the big towers are coming alive and telling a story. The show itself is not that impressive but really romantic to watch with your boy!
The Peak:
The sightseeing must do of Hong Kong. Look for a sunny day and check out the little Café Deco on the top where you can have the finest pastries by no other than Fauchon.
The Star Ferry:
Not a real attraction as the ferry starts every 10 minutes from Hong Kong Island to the mainland and back but it’s so much better than going by MTR. You will never get enough of the stunning skyline.
Trip to Macau:
Little Vegas is not as exiting as the original but you can have an amazing day full of casino fun. You are not into winning millions? Go there for the delicious pacijenata at the lovely Blossom Café and the cutest little Hello Kitty macarons ever seen.
PINK Shopaholics:
Well, the city with the most luxury malls in the world seems to be HK. In every corner you can spy all of our favs from LV to Hermès, from Sandro to Zara. There is no brand you can’t find.
The best malls are:
1. Times Square with the cool department store Lane Crawford. The hottest designer pieces from excellent buyers.
2. The Princess Building and Landmark mall: 4 Levels of Chanel boutique? Yes please! For more French feelings check out Ladurée Paris with the cutest Chinese special editions.
3. You love to strike a bargain? There are amazing second hand boutiques in central. But be careful shopaholics – sometimes these Birkins are more expensive than at the stores itself 😉
4. If you want to grab some special pieces not every girl owns Island Beverly at Times Square will be your dream. 5 Levels of super cute local designers. The higher you go the cheaper it gets 😉 You can find some nice basics and super cute romantic dresses with lots of pearls and frills. For ladies only!
5. Hong Kong Street Markets: There are so many day and night markets in HK but they are not really individual except the Stanley Street Market with its colorful patterns and pretty jewelry. Not directly in HK but perfect for a half day trip to the beach. Stroll at the promenade of Stanley and enjoy a froyo at Stanley Cave.
PINK Gourmet:
1. Passion by Gerard Dubois:
PINK MACARONs start the day french style all around the globe. Croissants, pastries, lots of macarons and café au lait – as good as Paris and it even feels like calm Europe in the crowded metropolis Hong Kong.
2. Ayuthaiya:
Absolutely perfect for a short chic lunch break. Cheap and tasty. Try the menu with their famous phat thai.
3. Felix:
Impressive interior design by Philippe Starck and a stunning skyline viewporn are waiting for you, even from the washroom. After Sketch London the coolest cloakroom ever seen 😉
4. Aqua:
Place to be – but nothing more! The best view of Hong Kong Island but disappointing overpriced food. Just take a cocktail at their luxurious bar.
5. One Dim Sum:
The best thing in life are free, well almost! All dishes at One Dim Sum are under 25 HK$. Traditional and simple atmosphere (your Chanel bag might be a bit shocked) but the best food ever ever ever. Try their Coco Mango Dim Sum. The best thing on earth (after PINK MACARONs).
6. Wooloomooloo Steak House:
What a name and what a view! Tender steak and groovy live music. Must be one of our faves.
7. Venchi:
Sweet treat anyone? Delicious ice-cream with marsh mellow topping 😉
8. Ozone Bar:
The highest bar in the world! Nothing more to say 😉 Ladies, try their fruity and sexy Dragon Martini!
PINK Looks:
We never saw that many amazing luxury bags at one place. Honk Kong ladies really prove high fashion taste! From all the sophisticated classics like Chanel 2.55 to unique special editions from Dior. You can spot every label and should show off your favorite bag babe!
The Mini Lady Dior in shiny light blue and for all Chloé girls the new it-bag Drew are perfectly right at HK.
The rest of the outfit should have an urban note like a classy beige trench coat combined with some casual mini dresses.
As you can walk for hours through the rushing streets of HK and especially its gigantic shopping malls we kindly recommend some nice flats. What could be cooler than some trendy espadrilles by Chanel or Kenzo? Comfy walk guaranteed.
We hope you enjoyed our little journey through this flashing city… 再见!
Yours,
The PINK MACARONs
