finally, right after the Corona lockdown ended in Germany and we are allowed to travel again in our country and of course we were searching for a very special place to visit first!
Villa Contessa in Bad Saarow is known as Germany’s smallest first-class hotel. Thats sounds perfect! Located on a beautiful and picturesque lakeside property right at the shore of the majestic and breathtaking Scharmützelsee, the hotel will mesmerize you with its wonderful view of the lake. Right outside Berlin (you can drive there in around 40 minutes) the noble suburb Bad Saarow is the perfect destination for long strolls alongside the shore of Scharmützelsee or for walks in gorgeous parks that invite you to take a break and enjoy the sun. Bad Saarow is so famous even many VIPs came here in the 1930s. Furthermore, the lake is the center for many sports activities such as boating or sailing (what I love).
After a day of activities you can relax at the family-run Villa Contessa which offers 7 elegant rooms with either a balcony or terrace. You can enjoy the view of the lake or spa gardens while having a cup of coffee or delicious breakfast or dinner. The restaurant of the hotel offers only a few tables but the food is worth the reservation! We had our first fresh asparagus this year with some salmon. Yummy!
The furnishing, decoration and details of Villa Contessa have been carefully picked and give each room a classy yet very comfortable look and feel to it. In addition to the Villa Contessa hotel, the garden mansion offers 8 luxurious suites which are the perfect choice for an outstanding holiday pampering yourself. Next to other wonderful suites, the garden mansions also offer a luxurious suite with its own Jacuzzi and a private terrace. This was our room and we totally loved it!
The view of the lake is breathtaking and invites you to spend hours on the terrace just watching the beautiful color of the lake or laying in the jacuzzi glancing over the beautiful garden. Again, the interior of the suite is very elegant and makes you feel very welcome. I Would also say the perfect room for a honey moon trip! Imagine: You and your love in the Jacuzzi with some fresh strawberries and champaign. Cliche but so good 😉 .
For the ultimate relaxation Villa Contessa offers a beautiful spa, too. One of the highlights is the heated outdoor pool with a straight view to the lake. That was our breakfast view, too by the way. Due to the fact that the pool has a pleasant temperature of 32 degrees, it can be used year-round. Enthusiasts of sauna sessions will appreciate the modern saunas at Villa Contessa. You can choose between an organic sauna, a Finnish one and a Roman steam bath. The offer is topped off with an ice well and relaxing rain showers. Furthermore, the spa provides first-rated wellness treatments such as massages, peelings and several beauty treatments.
We will definitely come back to this small luxury hotel on our next trip to Berlin!
